If you can do the separate pieces, meaning space and budget permits, then that would be the best option. It would give you not just more versatility in installation aspects, it would give you a higher quality unit. I like Thermador products but don’t love the combi unit. Wolf 36″ is a larger oven as well vs. the oven size in the Thermador 48″. I have seen both setups in many homes, and the people who break out the steam oven to a wall setup prefer it better.
I would then push you towards a single-door bottom freezer with no ice and no water, just simple yet effective. Not many all fridges in a decent price point that is good quality. The bottom freezer is a very reliable unit. I sell a lot of the Amana ABB series, and they have been known to last long. Here is the model
So, I would suggest getting a water test kit first. See the hardness of the water, so you know the proper setting for the new dishwasher. Many models offer a spot for dishwasher salt. This is designed to lower the water hardness and has an adjustable setting based on the test results. I would look at the Bosch lineup. As they offer a full assortment of models with a water softener feature, and it’s usually my go-to unit. Miele is well known for this as well, but the price may be higher. Frigidaire and some Whirlpool models if you want to be at a lower budget price point. I would skip the LG and Samsung brands here.
Based on the appliances needed. I would steer you to the base or mid-level GE line, just below Profile. They make reasonably priced appliances of excellent quality. They have a great wall oven at a fair price, so it kind of pushes me to them. They also make many models in each category. When out shopping, take a look. Here is the link
So the dishwasher category was very hard hit with the supply chain issues. Cafe was severely impacted I only see them trickling in with some models 6 months on backorder. The Cafe is a decent dishwasher, but the Bosch 800 is definitely better. If you’re doing all stainless, then anything could match. Regardless you’re going to have a tough time with any brand. The leak protection system on the Bosch/Thermador saved my kitchen just a few months back. The internal overflow valve backs up with water, and it shut off the water when it senses a leak. This was great as I had a tiny small puddle vs. putting down a new floor! The feature is totally worth it.
First of all, congrats on the home! I too bought an older home, and they are fun with unique challenges. The best mid-range bundle for me is a Frigidaire Gallery package or the mid-line GE (non-Profile) figure $4000 for a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, stove. The fridge will be the biggest factor as price swings are big based on size and style. If you have time, black Friday is a month away and the best time of year to buy appliances! Many bundle deals will be out there. Lead times are still long, so it could be a few months to fill the whole order.
So, depending on if you want a range with a back, or on with the controls on the front will dictate pricing a lot. But I’ll recommend what I think is best right now in that budget. You can also work other appliances from the same brand around it down the road. GE MODEL# JGS760SPSS selling price $1500-$1900 5 burners removable griddle no preheat air-fry. A ton of great features, one of the best for the money.
