It really depends on the brand sounds like you need a new thermostat. Here is a great company that repairs vintage stoves and sells parts for them https://www.belgroveappliance.com/
If you want something good and reliable, the side by side is the best for this next to a top freezer. Especially if you need ice and water on the door. In a side-by-side, the icemaker is where it belongs, in the freezer section. Just makes sense!
Here is a unit that is very reliable and fits the dims.
So since the question is short, I will assume you mean how do you hook it up? If it’s a gas line, call in a plumber, that would be my best advice. But since I was an installer back in the day. I can give you a quick tutorial.
Shut the gas off at the valve
Disconnect the gas line and remove it from both sides
Install a new gas line when replacing appliance as its the best time to do it and safe
Make sure both fittings on the valve and dryer side have gas approved pipe dope either for lp or nat gas
plug dryer in turn on the gas
spray some soapy water on both ends and looks for leaks (soap will bubble if leaking)
If all is good, make sure the vent hose is connected. Then start her up.
I still always recommend paying the store to do this as to why risk it when dealing with gas, safety is always #1
Well, I have good news for you. Yes LG gets a bad rap as they had some major compressor issues in the past and the ice and water on the door aren’t the most reliable. The model you choose doesn’t have either issue and I think it’s a good value unit. There is no reason for me to say don’t get it and if you follow my Facebook page I can be brutally honest! It’s a thumbs up from me.
An age-old question. They make self-cleaning then why wouldn’t it be safe to use? In my expert opinion, since I’m hoping that’s what you’re here for, is yes it does. I can’t tell you how many times over the years it has caused control panels to fail, door locks to get stuck, etc. This is why so many brands have shifted to the “steam clean” method these days. This is also why newer stoves are noisier, as they keep adding cooling fans. If you were to self-clean cycle, my advice is to use the shortest time frame so, do it more often vs. say a 5 or 6 hour cycle. Keep in mind any stove you can steam clean by putting it at a moderate temperature and a pan of water in a tray. This will help lift the grease accumulated on the walls and make it easy to wipe out. Easy off makes a self-clean safe product as well that works well.
If in the bottom freezer, then yes. It is very easy to unscrew it from the sidewall, remove it and unplug it from the connection. You would need to turn it off from the setting as well, so it doesn’t call for water. If it doesn’t have that setting, go to the back of the unit and unplug the solenoid valve (where water comes in, usually blue)so it doesn’t make noise every time it tries to fill. Not a big deal to remove. If in a French door, then it is built-in as part of the unit.
I think the Best 36 Induction range is the Fisher Paykel 9 series. It is a fully-featured, solidly made piece. Sell them a lot, and customers love them! A top pick in Induction.
