Core GE non-Profile to me is lower featured than the Profile, but still high quality for instance: https://www.geappliances.com/ge-appliances/kitchen/wall-ovens/?Brand=GE When you’re on the GE website you can click profile or not. Click the other and many products at a good price point will populate.
It is very possible that the coils have frozen over behind the back wall of the freezer, and it’s causing a defrost issue. If you are handy, I would unplug the unit and see if you can access the back panel. The fact you say the ice maker stopped as well is making me think there is an ice blockage somewhere behind the wall in the freezer, so try defrosting first. Now, what caused this can be several things, but that may get you up and running for now before you can get a tech in.
Almost every single chimney hood is designed to vent outside. Some offer charcoal filters that allow you to recirculate the air into the room if ducting is not feasible. The duct cover is called that as it “hides the ductwork.” It’s always best to vent outside when the room allows it. Hoods will run way more efficiently at removing smoke, steam, and odors when exterior ducting is available. An over-the-range microwave only has limited space to mount a motor and provide capture space for clearing smoke, as they are much less effective than hoods. If you like to cook, then get a hood. Some municipalities actually have codes that require cooking appliances to have exterior venting.
My new blog post coming soon will feature just this! My 3 top picks are the GE Monogram, The Wolf, and the Bluestar. All great in their own right. All three are the top gas cooktops on the market today.
So the extended warranties are tricky, on one hand, you say it’s a brand new appliance it shouldn’t break, so why would I spend the extra?! On the other hand, things are computerized today and are very quirky, so the smallest of issues cost you $125 for a service guy to walk in the home, not to mention the parts. I like extended warranties and encourage people to buy them on select products, usually fridges, stoves, dishwashers, washers, and other highly mechanical items. The main thing is the cost. I feel a warranty for 5-full years. 1st year from the manufacturer, then 4 more from the servicer shouldn’t exceed 10% of the purchase price and many times less. If you bought it from, let’s say, a home center, they usually are 20-30% less than buying it directly from the manufacturer. It’s your call, but if the cost falls in line, I would take it. I can’t tell you how many times 3-4 years later, in general with appliances, someone calls to say the ice maker stopped working or the computer went out, and it’s so nice when they’re covered.
Well, they are correct Bosch 800 series is one of the best, and KitchenAid 404, 604, or 704 are fantastic as well. You should look at the Maytag line, they are made on the same platform as the KitchenAid and can be cost-effective. For instance
