    Can you turn it off? there should be an off ice button if not there is a plug generally behind the hinge cap take off the hinge cover and see if you can unplug it without affecting the cooling controls. I think the paddle is stuck or the keypad for the ice…

    Sub Zero by far will be the best column for reliability service and parts! I have seen them fix 20 year old refrigerators they really are the tops in this type of product. Thermador is a close second as their columns have come a long way over the years. Fisher Paykel great company but very new to the columns.  84″ is the standard height and to give them the flush appearance they moved the compressors to the bottom to allow for a seamless venting appearance.  I do agree the shelfs on all of these can be quite tall. Unfortunately this is part of the design,.

    Over that range I would totally do  the BH234SLDSs  its 600CFM  (900 equivalent) more than enough power here. If you really want to bump it up the 334 is a 900-1200 unit  so next level of power.  Vent a hood is extremely quiet and has great capture space. Top choice in hood inserts.

    Look at the mastepriec series model MAST366DFSXTLP. The ball bearing rack options are model # 901471. If you go to the pro series, it will come with 6 burners and telescoping racks included.

    In my opinion the GE profile series or the LG is really a great option.  The will last you a long time!

    Its funny he says that because as I am reading the post  Frigidaire Gallery  popped into my head. They make all that you need and their price point is very fair for the features. LG will prob be second choice but the Frigidaire will prob last you longer her.
