Hello – we are doing a full scale house renovation and need all new appliances. We are looking for the ideal panel ready / built-in column refrigerator & freezer. We’ve narrowed it down to Subzero, Thermador, and Fisher Paykel. Of these 3 brands, what are your perspectives on reliability, repairs (if needed), and just overall wear and tear?

Also, the standard height for these seem to be 84″ yet some feel “taller” on the inside and being a petite person I can’t reach the top shelf. Are there any panel ready or built in options that scale shorter (if that makes sense).

The other appliances we’ve settled on are Bosch for speed oven/oven, dishwasher and Fisher Paykel for the cooktop.

      Thank you!

Sub Zero by far will be the best column for reliability service and parts! I have seen them fix 20 year old refrigerators they really are the tops in this type of product. Thermador is a close second as their columns have come a long way over the years. Fisher Paykel great company but very new to the columns.  84″ is the standard height and to give them the flush appearance they moved the compressors to the bottom to allow for a seamless venting appearance.  I do agree the shelfs on all of these can be quite tall. Unfortunately this is part of the design,.
