Any cooktop can go on an island. The issue is the venting. Only a few brands make them with the downdraft vent built-in as it is not a mass-produced appliance, so venting is usually the issue. You can also put an island vent above, but that can be costly and obtrusive on the view. Most brands design them for the wall application as that is pretty common in most kitchen setups, so they sell the most.
Don’t get anything too nice! She may stay. I would look at the Summit brand. They offer a 24″ stovetop with or without oven 24 fridge, 18″ dishwasher as well. They offer apt-size appliances at a great price point. They even make the one-piece combo units if that interests you.
If you really want a washer that tackles the mold issue, you need to look at the GE units that have the Ultra-Fresh Micro ban material. They have made great advancements in how the washers tackle mold and mildew. They offer Ultra-Fresh in 3 models based on no steam, steam, and a one-step wash dry model. It is the best for this.
Funny you say that as the Samsung rep just left me. I don’t have as much of an issue with the non-dispenser models and have sold a few Bespoke models with luck. The biggest issue was the dispenser, and they have yet to fully address it. The Bespoke line with all the color choices is selling well, and knock-on-wood is not a service call yet. The other thing is, if you need service, their network is still limited at best, but the Bespoke is an interesting piece selling well. LG got a lot better and fixed the compressor issue that haunted them. Their service network, while not good, is still better than Samsung.
If you mean a wall oven with micro convection built as part of the top unit. The GE profile or Cafe version would be a top pick for me. The unit is reliable, has tons of cooking modes, a quality microwave, and comes in a few finished. This cafe unit has speed cook and air fry as well.
Over the stove is always the best bet as it is such a space saver, and if a hood there requires little to no work. What you need to measure is the stovetop top bottom of the cabinet. You need 30″ from the stove to the bottom of the cabinet. That will give you the proper clearance you need. If you don’t have that, then you can always do a micro drawer built-in under the counter or just put one on a shelf below the counter for ease as well.
