We are adding a 2nd-floor laundry room.  While I love love love love love my current washer dryer, it’s top load top control and just won’t work up there.  Thankfully we will be keeping it in the basement for those huge jobs that only it can tackle.  Regardless.  I’m looking for recommendations.  I love the steam option on my current dryer and use it often.  I hear there have been some advancements in front load washers to avoid the mold issue.  I don’t care about smart stuff.  I like a good value, and bonus points for being available at Costco.  I have bought numerous appliances there in the past, and have not been disappointed.

If you really want a washer that tackles the mold issue, you need to look at the GE units that have the Ultra-Fresh Micro ban material. They have made great advancements in how the washers tackle mold and mildew. They offer Ultra-Fresh in 3 models based on no steam, steam, and a one-step wash dry model. It is the best for this.

Thanks!  This issue is why I got a top-load machine a few years ago.  It’s good to hear that there have been advancements since then, and really good to narrow it down.
