The broiler, if it’s just a heating element, is a quick, reasonable self repairable item. Costs maybe $80-$120. If you can clean the cooktop, it’s a better option as it is too expensive to replace. If all else is working fine, I would buy a new broiling element, clean the top the best you can and keep it. Prices are very high right now, so better to repair.
Really easy on those models! It is in the top corner of the fridge. Depending on the age, many have where you push it in, and it will pop out towards you, while some have a twist to turn. Those take some muscle as the water is under pressure, so it’s a good idea to push the water dispenser a little before removing it. There is no need to shut off the water when changing the filter as it is a pressure relief system.
The standard size in washer dryer is 27″ when people ask for a smaller size, the next model down is a 24″ wide machine. I recommend Miele or Bosch in this size. Keep in mind 90% of all 24″ machines are ventless, so if you want to vent it outside. That may narrower your choices down to a brand like Blomberg, who makes one of those.
It only requires 1 circuit and 1 electrical connection but may have a higher amp draw depending on the model. So it could potentially need a new wire. It is all model-dependent. I have had customers that have swapped single to double in the past with no issue.
Sounds like a temperature issue or a harvest cycle issue. Most icemakers behind the front panel have a timer setting for how long till it harvests (dumps) the ice. Sounds like yours is set too long. I would look at the setting and change it. Small tweaks at a time till it dumps properly.
Like everything, prices go up over time. But these are strange pandemic times. The supply chain is severely disrupted, causing manufacturers to raise prices like never before. In 27 years in the business, I have never seen so many prices increases at such a large amount ever. Viking went up in the Summer and recently announced another 15-20% increase. That is so crazy to me. Supply issues are causing hyperinflation everywhere. Fridges change sizes over the years, and today 25 is not a common size 24″ wide is around 60″ – 64″ tall. Look at the Summit brand. They have many smaller choices and odd sizes not found in other brands.
