Induction= speed, precise heat, efficiency, power many plus sides here.
Radiant= you can use any pots and pans, price point, availability
I am an induction guy I feel the way they allow you to precisely adjust the temp and have such little residual heat from a safety standpoint is unmatched. In our showroom I would demo the induction boiling water and people were amazed at the speed.
Interesting price point as there are some good ones around here and some better ones a few bucks more like a nice Fisher Paykel Fisher Paykel Ranges. I will push you to the Kitchen Aid KFDC558JSS as it has the best features for this price point. You get powerful burners, self cleaning, wifi adaptable, great look and great service to back it up.
So the Bosch I love in the 800 series french door as it is a beauty. For a side-by-side, I have to shift gears to the Whirlpool model WRS571CIHZ as it is 21 cubic and counter depth. It seems to be a good, simple, reliable side-by-side unit. Hard to find much larger capacity in a good side by side.
When you say Gulf Coast, do you mean for service or salt air issues? My go-to lately is the LG WashTower the Studio model as well, since it is a stainless cabinet vs. painted and is 5.0 cubic feet. It’s a fantastic 1-piece stackable that has been working very well. https://www.lg.com/us/washer-dryer-combos/lg-wsgx201hna-washtower#
Great question, so Wolf claims the unit will not run properly if run past 50ft. Now that is if a straight run and each elbow are equivalent to about 4 feet of the duct run. Now for the part, you probably don’t want to hear or won’t believe me. The motor is not where most of the noise comes from. The noise is mostly from the air passing through the baffle filters and the internal motor is not that much noisier so consider this when spending all the time mounting a motor on the roof and what is required to do so. We had in our showroom a remote blower 1200 as well and people were like why so noisy (mostly when on high) so when I removed the filters to show them most of the noise went away. This is why a brand like a vent a hood makes their magic lung blower that has no filters it is very quiet. The hood you selected however is a top unit great looking and functions well so I’m sure you will love it regardless but hoods do make noise by nature of the function. Moving air and fast! Here is the wolf vent guide Vent Guide page 6
The fact your husband is familiar with ducting puts me at ease here. So the fan is based on the width of the stove and the proper CFM needed based on your cooking type. Many brands make sizes that coincide with a 30″ 36″ range 48″ etc. XO is a brand who makes a reasonably price unit that has metal baffle filters, is quiet and comes in all the main sizes needed. They also wont break the bank! Here they are https://xoappliance.com/insert/
