So normally, I suggest the Bosch 800 series to me, there is no better fridge but you sacrifice external water on the door. I think it’s worth it as it has dual compressors not normally found in a counter depth. If you truly want a dispenser and a convertible zone, the Electrolux is one of the few brands that even offer this. I would consider then doing other appliances around this from Bosch or a GE cafe etc. The double drawer counter depth with dispenser really limits you.
Depends on a few variables like full-depth counter depth ice and water etc. Many times that the second drawer is a fridge drawer vs. a freezer. A few brands even make that drawer convertible so you can adjust the temp from the freezer to the fridge. Here is a unit I sell a lot of with great feedback. It has no ice and water on the door, is of the new compressor design, and has two true freezers at the bottom.
Unfortunately, very few choices today in gas wall ovens, almost all manufacturers shifted to electric. Being that you have a caloric, you probably have a 27″ wide unit, maybe one with the lower broiler oven. If you do, those are no longer made. But if you have a 24″ there are a few choices, Frigidaire and GE still make them. On the ultra hi-end, Bluestar does then American range and a few Veronas at the mid-level. So you need to check your width and start from there, height will prob be an issue but easier to fill than cut sometimes Here is a good start :
Let me clarify a little as there are thousands of good reliable people at big box stores who care and work hard every day. Being an independent retailer for over 25 years, I see the advantage most smaller stores can offer. Expertise, reliable delivery, ability to lower pricing and support of your local community. For me that always comes first when you can! The problem of late is many smaller stores are dying off as larger stores take their business or just no one to take over for generational issues. ABT happens to be a huge family owned independent store that is a powerhouse. It’s like a shopping mall for appliances and I do hear very good things about them to be fair. Sears is unfortunately dying a slow death and I am afraid buying there today they may not be able to service you tomorrow. So, I say shop small business when you can. Their is a misnomer they are more expensive and its usually the opposite. If there are none in your area then of course Lowes, Home Depot etc.
One of my favorite stories I’ll share is when my father worked with me. A woman came in with her son as she was waiting for the bus and asked about a gas stove. He was helping her out and she said I’m sorry I need to go as I will miss the bus next one is in 2 hours. They talked for a while longer and she missed the bus, she ended up explaining how she lost her car and was on a tight budget the stove hadn’t worked in months. He sold her a stove at a great deal, he then said i’ll be right back and as she went outside to wait for the next bus , I saw him pull up in his car and say to her get in I’ll drive you and your son home and he did.
He’s passed away now but to me that is an old school retailer and an independents retailers heart!
Always better to buy a package when feasible. This is due to a few factors, such as package pricing and aesthetics. For some brands like Thermador, the more you buy, the more you save. Always nice to have a matching handle or the same stainless. Now I have no issue mixing in a pocket handle dishwasher or a panel ready fridge when the size becomes an issue, so it’s not set in stone. But it is better to try and match when possible.
I really like the speed queen front loaders and am surprised to hear of the issues. With that being said I still prefer the ultra fresh GEs as my top front load pick. I would go speed queen on the basic top loaders for old school simple reliable units. The GEs are also ,more like the whirlpool your use to with more updated features. Ultra fresh for me, and GE has a vast support network compared to speed queen as well.
So ventless is mostly all they use overseas and in the US they are becoming more and more of a requirement due to venting issues. In my humble opinion, the Bosch is a great ventless but nothing beats the Miele. They perfected it over the years. That is my go-to piece when someone wants the best it’s the best!
