Great question. It is prudent to install a dishwasher near a sink to cut down on many costs. Keep in mind, you will need
24″ cabinet opening (some units do come in 18″)
110-volt electrical outlet for power (dedicated circuit preferred)
Water source 3/8 water feed to the unit
Drain/Discharge hose to a nearby trap
If a fresh install and close to a sink, I would estimate the cost to be around $500-$750 for a qualified plumber/handyman. This cost could vary based upon the above. A dishwasher is an excellent investment in the home and will help with resale value as well.

As long as it’s a direct fit, it really is an easy part to change and can extend the life of the refrigerator for a long time. If the fridge is in good running order, I would consider changing it. Depending on the model, a door seal kit is $100-$200 and takes about 45 minutes to put on if somewhat handy. Once installed, it will last for years.

If you are just talking about the door seal or the gasket. That part is relatively inexpensive to purchase and can be self-installed. So if nothing else wrong, not a bad investment. If you are talking about the main seal, like the tub, it would not be worth the repair cost based on the age. 11 years is a fairly good time frame today for a washer. So you may want to weigh that an average new duet is around $1000 today.

Thank you for the question! It’s a good one because often, people take appliance sizing for granted and when doing a new kitchen, every inch matters. Here are the basic sizing and guidelines for ranges.

20″ basic apartment stove for small spaces

24″ basic stove for tight spots a few high-end brands makes some in this size

30″ This is your industry-standard universal stove found in most homes today and gives you the most choices in sizing colors and features. Some units come as double ovens in a 30 as well.

36″ This is when you want more professional style cooking and spacing on the cooktop and oven size, price points jump here as well.

48″ This will also be a pro range style and offers the addition of a smaller half-size oven, so you get dual cavities.

60″ This is for the extreme chefs who want two 30″ ovens in one unit.

So I like you said affordable vs. cheap. Of course, there are many factors like gas or electric stove? Over the range microwave? A 36″ fridge or a 30″?
I will stick with standard-sized appliances, for now, to give you an average price point and an idea of the best value.

30″ range gas or electric (average $700)
30″ top freezer fridge (average $800)
    24″ dishwasher (average $450
30″ over the stove microwave (average $300)
Frigidaire value series in stainless would be my go-to average price of $2250.00

An age-old question, personally I like gas cooking because I like a gas boiler and the control of the flame. I also like the fact you can be rough on the surface and not have to worry about cracking or scratching a glass top.  I have had gas in my home so I stuck with it. I can tell you with the advancement of induction cooking and the new lower price points it is definitely something worth looking into. I think electric induction is a fantastic method. Since you said  “recommend” I have to go with gas but it is personal preference and what utilities the house can handle end of the day. Some counties and states in the US will be doing away with gas cooking down the road, I heard California already starting it soon due to its environmental impacts.

A unique piece with the 60/40 door split. The top drawer is a convertible zone. Sell them a lot, and feedback is excellent. The one complaint is items next to the ice maker inside the fridge seem to get too cold. But overall, it’s a very reliable unit. It’s a counter depth as well, and you don’t see many 4 door counter depths add in the fingerprint-free finish it’s a good buy. Shop around, I see this unit in stock at a few places online.
