I love the Big Chill retro appliances because they use quality components! They are the best option in retro appliances by far!

That is a thermostat issue. It thinks it reached temperature then turns back on when cool. That’s a part of normal operation, but not for 15 minutes. It would need to be replaced at this point.

If the microwave is running, it is very dangerous as it will emit microwaves into the air. That’s is a health hazard. The fan can run with the door open as it is a vent fan on a separate switch and is part of normal operation. Is the internal light still on? that is a dead giveaway that it’s running, as the internal light is tied into the microwave process.

Wow! That is why you buy a Sub-Zero. They are built to last. New ones are much more efficient as well. I would say let her run, but don’t put any more money into it at this point. Not worth it. The space has not changed so it would be good to buy a new one. But if another Sub-Zero is not in the budget, KitchenAid and others offer built-in fridges of that same size.

That is a light that usually tells you the surface indicator is still hot, if it doesn’t go off then the sensor probably went bad and needs to be replaced.

It’s crazy, but you’re correct. The parts are absurdly expensive to replace. A control board costs more than the unit itself many times. I feel your pain but try to look for a generic version. Amazon sells a few.
