Refrigerators work a lot harder in the summer with high humidity and temps in the house higher than typical. Going in and out of it a lot lets warm room air enter, and then it takes that much longer for the unit to cool down. Is the AC on in the house? You can test the theory by raising the room air temp and seeing if that helps. Generally, fridges work overtime in the hotter, higher humidity months.
