Why don’t Samsung products last as long as other brand names, but you pay equal if not more for them?

Samsung, in my opinion, rushes products to market and doesn’t listen to consumer feedback. When thousands of people said their icemakers were freezing over, all they did was keep pumping them out, creating a mess.

My local sales reps explain to me there is a communication gap at the top. Typical corporate bureaucracy then add in the overseas mentality as the U.S. consumer is quite different. They are so worried about just getting models into the big-box stores the product quality has gone downhill. Their local services are terrible, and most cant get parts fast enough. I’m not a big Samsung fan at all. I think they need to prove themselves to consumers again. They just don’t make a quality appliance. They innovate too fast for the “coolness” factor, and to me, that ends up leaving the end-user with a big paperweight. Price is not bad, they are on par with other brands and sometimes less. I would overlook the brand for now until things get better.

Have you seen any ‘fixes’ for the ice makers on their French door models that have worked? Mine is from 2013 and I see the many models still being sold that have exactly the same problem.
