Sometimes, the microwave oven above the electric range won’t respond to my commands. Need to unplug it and plug in power again before it works. Is this a major problem or is it something that I just have to live with?
It means the control board is on its way out. You can leave as it would be the best choice as a new panel would not be worth the expense to change it.
