      Al, I need some advice!

We need a big fridge and freezer – we have little 3 boys who already eat a lot, and space is the fridge is an issue already!  We were almost set on the Electrolux 30″ fridge and freezer combo, but then started looking closer at the column fridges.  Now we are trying justify investing in a larger built-in.  So my questions are:  Are these column/built-in fridge and freezers more reliable than your typical standalone and do they last longer? They are sleek and spacious looking, but they are twice the price of the Electrolux version.   We have been looking at Jenn-Air because we like the look of it, and they have a 25% discount with multiple items (we also need induction top, wall ovens, vent), but aren’t stuck on that brand either.  (I’ve heard mixed things about their wall ovens).

I appreciate any insight on these or maybe another options to consider?  Many thanks!

So the Frigidaire or Electrolux twins serve a purpose, almost 40 cubic feet of space. They are awesome but don’t confuse them with a true built-in like the JennAir you mention. There is a quality difference. The columns can be built in flush panel ready and come as large as 36″ wide each. They will have a better cooling system and by design be more reliable. I sell the twins all the time as it’s a fantastic price point, but for a true built-in fridge, not just a counter depth with a trim kit. Get the JennAir and take advantage of the promotion. They offer a 10% discount as well for builders so don’t miss out on that.

Thank you very much!!   This helps a lot!  May I ask how we access the builders discount, do you know if thats applicable in Canada as well?

For the Jenn-Air discount, I’ve read that the panels on their stoves can be a problem and often need replacing.  If that’s true, would that deter you from jumping at this promotion?

Thanks so much for the quick reply!

10% plus the promo should be anywhere but you need to ask your dealer. In the US the builder fills out a form its very easy. As far as the panel nothing to be worried about, can it break sure, but I just sold a Wolf and it needed a new panel it happens but nothing that stands out to me as a continuous problem. Good luck!
