How To Clean A Griddle Like An Appliance Expert
From pancakes and eggs to burgers and onions, you can make almost anything on a griddle! For some of us, our flat tops will get a lot of use.
Our flat top griddles almost always need some TLC. It’s become far easier to clean your flat top than in the past. Cleaning dirty flat-top griddles the old-fashioned way with hand-held bricks, vinegar, oil or caustic cleaning products is a real pain.
I recommend using the Scotch-Brite™ Quick Clean Griddle Cleaning System Starter Kit 710. It’s what I personally use and recommend! With just 3 easy steps, your flat top can go from looking rough to sparkling again.
Step 1. Spray
Spray – Pour the Scotch-Brite™ Quick Clean Griddle Liquid 700-40 or Scotch-Brite™ Quick Clean Griddle Liquid 701, onto a hot griddle, somewhere around 300–350°F. The bubbling of this powerful liquid lifts and loosens stubborn burnt-on food soil and grease from the griddle surface, spray it down and watch the bubbles go to work!
Step 2. Scour
Scour – Using the Scotch-Brite™ Quick Clean Heavy Duty Griddle Pad 746 and the Scotch-Brite™ Multi-Purpose Pad Holder 405-R, apply light pressure and gently scour the griddle.
Step 3. Squeegee
Squeegee – Use the Scotch-Brite™ Squeegee 410 to remove any excess dirty liquid, leaving the griddle clean.
Step 4. Admire!
Time to enjoy! With regular cleaning and care, you can keep your griddle looking brand-new for a long time!
