I personally think the LG over the range microwaves are the best in quality and features. They make the unit with the extend-a-vent, so it has a more powerful hood, better ventilation, and that is important. The interior is easy-clean as well. Time will tell. So no answer, but think of it this way. They’re Samsung, so you’re lucky they’re still working. The average life is 8-12 years, so if you do need a repair. At that point, I would replace it.
So I do love the new LG washtower but 1 repair in 7 years is not that bad. If it is a minor repair, I’d fix them. I have Electrolux as well. I’m on my 2nd set as I moved. The original models are 12 years and going strong for the new homeowners! It all depends on what’s wrong with them. If something like a motor, a board, or a pump, it’s not worth the repair. If you decide to replace it, then the WashTower is working extremely well to great reviews!
Not so much for freezers as that technology is virtually the same but fridges will have an issue more on the newer units as they use digital thermostats. The thermostat will shut when too cold. So the fridge will lose temp, and if too hot, like any appliance with a compressor, it will work harder to maintain a constant temp. This excessive use will cause them to fail and not last as long. There are a few fridges on the market designed for garage applications, such as the Whirlpool Gladiator series. GE makes a garage-ready fridge. Frigidaire sells a heater kit for the thermostat. When installed in select units, it will keep it running in extreme cold. Too cold or too hot is never great for an appliance as they really are designed to be used in temp-controlled environments.
I don’t think so. You can always put a meter on the line to make sure the current is steady. Are you experiencing power surges or blackouts frequently? A power surge is a common culprit to kill a fridge, but the wiring itself is usually not. I would also put a surge protector to be safe in the outlet they do work to steady current if that is the root cause.
