It actually is. keep in mind its a pre determined timer not based on water usage so if you don’t even use it often then its ok. I press the reset button twice before I change mine unless I notice a water slow down.

Many new machines have added additional drains on the door gasket to help eliminate the issue. I can tell you the new GE ultra fresh washers have added a micro ban material that mold mildew and bacteria will not adhere to. That is my #1 choice if worried about the issue.

A heat pump is the most efficient type of dryer but not a ton on the market. I personally like the Speed Queen brand of dryers and feel they are very reliable.

Ever yes it can, I personally have a white quartz counter and it is fantastic and has yet to stain from wine spills to oil I am very satisfied with its durability. I say yes as over time anything is possible with some type of product or chemical that can permeate it.  I would give it a thumbs up as a counter material.

I would say without hesitation GE. They have the most readily available parts and service manuals easy to access online.

First check the filter at the bottom of the unit to make sure nothing is blocking the drain if not you will need to disconnect the drain hose from under the sink and lower it below the unit see if water comes out that will help eliminate if the drain is clogged or the sink line.

Try swapping the knobs first as they are push to turn safety knobs and that will tell you if a defective knob or a stuck valve. If it is a stuck valve spray a little WD40 in the valve shaft. If this doesn’t work you may need a servicer to replace them last resort.
