You should run the fan every time using the oven, and you will be fine. Many times, it can damage the control panel the excess heat even if just baking. So I would say although they are built for the heat, it will greatly improve the panel life if you run the vent fan. That is why it’s there to move the heat!
Could be normal, depending on the cycle. 4 hours would be the longest cycle, and the sensor readings in the tub determine to continue washing or not. The average is 2 hours fr cycle these days.
