LG had a bad run of refrigerators but that seems to be behind them for a few years now, they make very innovative products with cool and unique features that the American brands seem to be lacking. I love their stoves, love their micros like their fridges and don’t really love the dishwashers thy make. Overall a good brand but try to throw another dw in the mix.

The best for me is usually the Bosch and to be fair you don’t have to spend an arm they make some entry level panel ready models starting at just $599 so that would be my go to here.

Happy New Year to you as well. So you have an under-cabinet and want to go to more of a chimney style. What you need to do is remove the upper cabinet repaint or finish the wall then mount it. The things to consider before taking on this work are:

    1. How hard is it to remove that cabinet? Is it going to affect the cabinets around it? How wide is it? Etc. Can you remove it by destroying the surrounding cabinetry?
    2. Where is it ducted? Internally then no issue. If it’s externally, then is the vent centered? So it can hide behind the duct cover of the new hood. If you need to move the ductwork. It may not be worth the expense.
    3.  Electrical is the power coming in a spot so you can relocate it easily enough? Most are hardwired, so usually easy to relocate.

It is done quite often, so not overly hard. But will require a person who can handle a few trades, basic carpentry, electric, painting skills needed.

If you are selling and haven’t sold yet. New appliances are a great selling tool. I would replace them now with a nice new reasonable set of appliances that look good. Go for a nice Frigidaire Gallery set of fingerprint-free stainless. You can probably get a full set for $4000, and that alone you will get back in the sales price. Kitchens are one of the biggest looked at things in new home purchases.

LG . Samsung ,Whirlpool and GE make a lot of 33″ wide units. I would say the Ge line up would be the most reliable.
