Al, can you tell me the ultimate as well as the maximum distance from the hood that we should/can mount the remote blower for the Wolf 54″ Pro island hood? We have the 1200 cfm remote blower ordered. I would like for it to be as quiet as possible and still be functional.  Thank you so much for any advise you might have to offer. 🙂

Great question, so Wolf claims the unit will not run properly if run past 50ft. Now that is if a straight run and each elbow are equivalent to about 4 feet of the duct run. Now for the part, you probably don’t want to hear or won’t believe me. The motor is not where most of the noise comes from. The noise is mostly from the air passing through the baffle filters and the internal motor is not that much noisier so consider this when spending all the time mounting a motor on the roof and what is required to do so. We had in our showroom a remote blower 1200 as well and people were like why so noisy (mostly when on high) so when I removed the filters to show them most of the noise went away. This is why a brand like a vent a hood makes their magic lung blower that has no filters it is very quiet. The hood you selected however is a top unit great looking and functions well so I’m sure you will love it regardless but hoods do make noise by nature of the function. Moving air and fast! Here is the wolf vent guide Vent Guide page 6

Wow, OK, Thank you. I know better than to NOT believe you. OK, I will stop stressing about how far away I can get the motor. Unfortunately we have already ordered the remote one and it is waiting for us at the appliance store…sure wish our sales people around here were half as helpful as you…sigh. Thank you for the vent guide. Very helpful. 🙂
