I have had a Danby outdoor-rated fridge on my pool deck for several years with no issue.  It sits in a recessed cavity in my cabinet.  However, we had a strong wind-driven rain the other day that blew water into the cavity and undoubtedly got things wet, including the electrical section in the back.

I have a temp sensor in the fridge, and was alerted on my phone that the temperature inside the fridge was rising (after the storm passed).  I went out to check.  I opened the fridge and the light was on, but dimly, and quickly faded to dark.

I have had fans blowing on the electrical section, had the unit sitting in the sun, dried everything I can see, and the unit still blows whichever breaker it’s connected to.

Any ideas of what else I can try?  It’s been 2-3 days since the storm and the fridge is still tripping breakers.

      Thanks!

Is it on  a GFCI breaker those can go bad and do quite often. Just had all outlets on island backsplash go out and that was the culprit.   Is it just when this unit is plugged in?
