Induction cooker not heating well

Hi

My induction hotplate start stops continuously giving an intermittent noise that goes on and on. result it the cooktop heats very slow. what could be the cause?

When I place a compatible pan, it gives two small beeps then some noise I don’t know how to expalin and then repeat. The power also peaks to max power and then goes to zero. All this repeats every 2 to 3 seconds.
