It leaks on & off and is about 11 years old so if it can’t be fixed cheaply it may be time for a new washer.

If you are just talking about the door seal or the gasket. That part is relatively inexpensive to purchase and can be self-installed. So if nothing else wrong, not a bad investment. If you are talking about the main seal, like the tub, it would not be worth the repair cost based on the age. 11 years is a fairly good time frame today for a washer. So you may want to weigh that an average new duet is around $1000 today.

      Hi Al,

Thanks for the prompt reply! The seal I’m referring to is where the door meets the unit so that seal. Often it’s where small clothing items will get trapped in the wash. Not sure if that’s the door seal  or gasket. Is what you link the replacement part for either?

That is a fairly easy part to replace. I did mine years ago, and I think it cost me $140 for the part and took me 25 minutes to swap it. Was it a Whirlpool brand and all done from the front? Some brands do require the removal of the front panel.
