How difficult is it to run a water line

      How hard of a job is it to run a water line from the basement where the pipes are into the wall where my fridge is so that I can use the icemaker and water dispenser.  Do I need special tools?  Any tips to not make mistakes?

      It is not hard. But there is the easy way and the pro way. They make saddle valves that self pierce the waterline as a kit with copper tubing. It is easy to do. Now, while the kit is available from any home center and, rather easy to install. I don’t always trust the reliability of those values. I always prefer hiring a plumber who can tap in a real valve in the line with a proper shut-off in the event of an emergency.
