I purchased a Frigidaire gas range through Home Depot. I paid for installation, however the installers weren’t able to install. They didn’t have the right tools to unscrew the old gas line. So it was installed the following day by a plumber. During the initial inspection I missed that there was damage on the bottom of the oven door. A significant chip in the enamel finish. Because of the location of the damage it went unnoticed until 48 hours later when I used the oven. When I called Frigidaire and Home Depot they had zero resolutions as it was past their 48 hour rule. What are my option? I’m just stuck with a brand new damaged range?
That’s really unfair and not right. First of all, shame on that big box for having crappy installers as they usually do. This is why I push smaller independent stores. Frigidaire has a 30-day cosmetic warranty, not 48 hours, so they’re wrong.
right from their website:
Cosmetic claims are only covered for the first 30 days of ownership.
A chip in the porcelain on the outside can be painted over with touch-up paint. If inside the oven, it will get worse over time. You need to call Home Depot or your credit card company to dispute it and protect yourself.
Thank you for letting me know about the 30 day cosmetic warranty! I did contact Frigidaire again and they will have someone to come look. The first time I called Frigidaire the agent refused to service me because of 48 hour thing. They had zero notes on my first call. Hopefully they can make it right. I sure won’t be purchasing appliances from Home Depot again.
