Currently have a 16 year old kitchen aid with trim kit. Works perfectly, but the opening mechanism had a small piece break off. They no longer make parts for it. We southern engineered it and it work well for about 6 months or so. Now, we have to get a new one. My question is: What’s the best, most affordable convection microwave that I get add a trim kit to?

So there are many choices. I can recommend one, but usually, in these cases, it’s not about price but more of what will fit in that space. Here is one. If you need just a good value, look at the Sharp as it has an optional trim kit and is one of the best values. https://shop.sharpusa.com/1-5-cu-ft-900w-sharp-stainless-steel-carousel-convection-microwave-oven-smc1585bs/
