Best downdraft ranges for kitchen island

      What is the best brand for a retractable downdraft range for my kitchen island? And do they work just as well as having the vents above the stove?

      Downdrafts are always good when no other option is present. Very few are made. They will not work as well since heat and smoke will rise. The only two still made are the KitchenAid and the JennAir. Both are made by Whirlpool. I would only suggest using one if on an island and no other way to vent.
