I am loving the Bosch 800 series French door fridge. I really, really want it. But it’s just slightly too tall for my space.

My husband thinks we may be able to raise the cabinet that’s in the way without too much trouble. Is it really so great that it’s worth that effort? (It really shouldn’t be hard, but I just worry that will open up a whole can of worms, so to speak.)

If you wouldn’t go to that trouble, what’s the second best option? Requirements:

      Counter depth

      French door

      Stainless steel

Height under 71″, ideally (the cabinet is 71.5 from the floor).

Big enough for family of 4

Ice maker and water dispenser, but I don’t care if they’re on the door (and may actually prefer internal. Probably not a deal-breaker either way)

We’re replacing a side by side Kenmore, and the big problem (other than age) is that the shelves are all cracked and we can’t open the fridge side all the way out because it hits a counter. (I know the Bosch has thick doors but I don’t think that would be an issue in this spot)

It is a fantastic fridge the cooling system cant be beat but GE is next best and will be at the 70″ tall height. I say raise the cabinet it will be worth it in the long run!
