When talking electric ranges they will have a smooth glass top so no griddle will come on the top. What you want to look for is a bridgeable burner that will allow a griddle when placed on the cooking surface to heat evenly. Many are made like this but most in a 36″ will be induction as well. As you can see from this Bertazzoni 36″ there is a burner shaped like a griddle for that reason.
