Dishwasher Cleaning Guide - Just Ask Al

Step 1: Clean the Door

  1. Use some warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. If stainless steel, you can follow up with stainless cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Remember to apply in the direction of the grain.
  2. Let the stainless soak in for about 45-60 seconds before wiping dry.

Step 2: Clean the Tub

  1. Take out the lower filter and wash it thoroughly at the sink, then replace it.
  2.  Take a damp cloth and wipe the door gasket out well. Get all that grime that’s been sitting there for a long time and wipe it all clean.
  3. You can then take a mug and fill it ¾ of the way with distilled vinegar. Place it in an empty dishwasher on the middle rack. You are now ready to run a normal cycle.
  4. After the cycle is done, you can sprinkle a little baking soda inside the bottom of the dishwasher and run another cycle.

These steps will clean the tub, now you are ready to go!

Once a month, you can run a cycle of dishwasher cleaning tabs such as Affresh tablets.

Affresh tablets

That should keep you good for a year. After then I would repeat the vinegar, baking soda cycle.
